Project Overview

Style Companion is a personal styling assistant concept designed to help users make faster and more confident fashion decisions.

The project explores how AI can support daily outfit selection, personal style guidance, and smarter shopping choices based on users’ preferences, body characteristics, and existing wardrobe.

Problem Space

Many women own enough clothes, but still struggle to decide what to wear or what to buy next.

Key challenges:

• Difficulty understanding what styles and clothing items suit them best.
• Decision fatigue when choosing what to wear.
• Uncertainty about what to buy next to improve their wardrobe.
• High effort required to manage and maintain digital wardrobes.

User Insights

Through observation and user conversations, several recurring challenges emerged:

• Many users struggle to decide what to wear despite owning enough clothes.
• Users often feel overwhelmed by the number of available fashion choices.
• Users want confidence when making purchase decisions.
• Most users are unwilling to spend time manually managing a digital wardrobe.
• Fashion decisions are highly influenced by mood, occasion and weather.

The final design focuses on reducing decision fatigue through a conversational experience. Instead of overwhelming users with multiple menus and features, the assistant guides them step by step toward outfit recommendations and smarter shopping decisions.
